BIO
I graduated from Connecticut College in 2019 with a B.A. in both Art and in Art History. The most recent chapter of my education was an exciting journey toward earning my post-baccalaureate certification in Art Education at Central Connecticut State University.
Art has been a pillar in my life from the time I could hold a crayon. It has been a transformative and creative outlet for many aspects and stages throughout my life. I fully recognize and understand the significance of creating art as an avenue for expression. This is especially true when our external world does not seem to correlate with our internal world.
Creating art has been a gift, and I aim to pay it forward by helping students find enjoyment and meaning in the process of making their own. It is my hope that it becomes a vehicle for them to engage deeply with themselves as they find and use their unique voice to bring their ideas to the forefront. As a teacher, I am committed to helping children develop a positive sense of self-esteem and to work side-by-side with my students to help them get in touch with their innate creativity, to improve artistic skills, and to build a positive community in our classroom.
When I am not immersed in art, I like to go on adventures and travel to explore new places and cultures. I also enjoy spending time at the ocean or at home reading a good book from a variety of genres including mystery, thrillers, and historical fiction. As an equestrian, I love to spend time riding two favorite horses: Romeo and Jelly Bean. I also love all things related to fitness and wellness as it pertains to both physical and environmental health.
